So, uh...hi to all 12-15 of you who actually notice and say things to me. I'm not mad at you I'm just very dead on the inside.
Anyway HERE'S THE NEW ABOUT JAFAX 2018!!!! I'd usually upload pictures but, uh...I went a
little nutty this year and took...113. Yeah so I'm just gonna put them into my
Sta.sh and y'all can take a look at them that way.
This is the one time of year where waking up before 9 AM makes me wish I was somewhere else. Artist's Alleyway was a bit late I think? I could've sworn it was at 10 instead of 10:30...but yeah I killed time by playing Animal Crossing: New Leaf. I brought my sister's along this year as well so she could take advantage of the SpotPass. Tonight she found out about the Mii Plaza games and she thinks Find Mii is adorable. (I have to agree with her on that, even if it's my Mii getting placed in a cage on my DS) I actually SpotPassed someone from last year too!
It also means many more new houses to peek into. I hope mine is...okay.
My first surprise of the day was that there were cute little paper crane mobiles on display on the upper level! They were made by a resident named Stacie Tamaki and it's called
tinygami. And seriously it's just sooooo cute and sooooo pretty!
After some exploration I came across the game section...mostly to continue to kill time! Found something called
Museca and that was pretty fun! Kinda...hard when I had to twist the pads but still fun! I indulged in my weebish tendencies by playing Bad Apple!!,
Senbonzakura, and...a Touhou Project involving Alice and...rainbows??? Iwasn'tsureokay. Fun! And then I got to play PROJECT DIVA AFTER THAT. I'm, uh...kinda bad at it, even on easy mode...but still, got to play Luka Luka Night Fever and Melt, 2 of my favorites! I played a Len song that I never heard of and...all I got was that it involves being in a bird cage. Also came across something called Magequit, which...doesn't have a Wikipedia page so all I can say it to Google it.
And then I found my first cosplay that sparked my interest...a Pikachu suit. It's like those ones in those Pikachu dancing performance in Japan, it's super cute!
And then after filling my time with video games it was time for the artist's alleyway~! I found a Yuri on Ice!!! scroll set for you fans of it. My camera focused on Yurio's butt...bad camera. THERE WERE SO MANY AMAZING THIIIIIIIIINGS. SO. MANY. THINGS. I COULDN'T TAKE COME. BECAUSE OF MONEY. I stayed at the Deosil Designs stall the longest...because it was all original Legend of Zelda content...I regret nothing. Also I might have inspired a booth owner? I came across some cute stack-able plushies of the Eeveelutions and also noticed some cute plushie
paopu fruits among some of the LGBT+ pride items on sale there too. I made a technically flippant comment on making queer-themed paopus and...well we'll see next year if that comes to fruition or not.
I met a tiny bird!
At 11 AM there was a panel hosted by Todd Haberkorn. There was a line. I was banished to sitting against the wall. I decided against going to the second panel at 1 PM since that ALSO had a line...
I learned to NOT eat cheesecake on a stick. I know it sounds like a goal there but it's actually harder than you realize, even if you have it covered in that insta-solidification chocolate syrup. Which I did. It was NOT easy as you get to the thicker part of the cut. I...I had to...abandon it into the trash...*Sad music*
I also went to
a panel about magical girls! I know that SEEMS like a no duh, "It's just Sailor Moon with different colors and theme" but you'd be surprised...the concept is as old as history and legends themselves. I even got a little booklet from the con for it! It's short so I finished it within a short time and...it DOES bring up some interesting aspects about the genre and the characters you have in them. My only complaint is that...the author/panel presenter ended up mistaken on the relationship between Sailors Jupiter and Uranus. I don't know if that was just
his OTP and it altered his memories of the Sailor Moon cast dynamic or it really
has been a super long time since he's last seen it. He might've mixed up Beryl with another antagonist that was of a similar story/look/etc too but I can't say for sure.
Afterwords I actually met a customer from my part-time cashiering job! I knew it was here because she has
a very distinctive purse she's had when coming in. She was a volunteer worker and got
a cute toy for her son!
I need to do research on an old PS2 game called
Dark Cloud because the game cover has a kinda blatant Link copy on it. So far it's not a 100% clone but there's still the aspect of a desert-themed villain that has to be taken down by a young boy in green.
